Under the supervision of the Shelter Team Leader, The Family Advocate provides a full range of crisis intervention, advocacy, and referral services for children in their care.
Safenet Services is looking for a full-time, patient, understanding individual to care for children that may have witnessed/experienced domestic violence and are now staying at our shelter.
The Family Advocate works closely with counseling services, staff, and families within the shelter providing activities and supervision for children while their parent is involved with building a new life.
Duties may include
Creative play activities, homework supervision, outside play
Encourage healthy parent-child interaction, by providing activities for families
Coordinate field trips, including transportation
Organize children’s birthday parties and oversee the planning of holiday parties
Arrange for volunteers to assist with recreational activities
Supervise educational arrangements for children residing in shelters and establish professional relationships with local school district personnel
Oversee organization and cleanliness of children’s program storage areas and playroom
Receive and distribute children’s program donations
Provide a clean and safe play environment for children
Maintain client records
Work closely with the Resident Advocate to share any shift responsibilities needed to be done
CDA or equivalent experience, High school diploma, or GED
Be over the age of 25
Able to pass a background check

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $10.00 per hour
Safenet Services, Inc., a domestic violence, sexual assault & stalking intervention and prevention agency, is accepting applications for part-time Program Assistant for our Claremore agency. This individual should be a mature person able to work independently. Knowledge of computer systems and office equipment. Must be organized and have excellent communication skills. Confidentiality is of great importance, so ability to maintain confidentiality and to interact with people in a confidential manner is required.
Perfect position for a student evening job or individual just wanting limited hours. This position involves assisting supervisors of our various programs with greeting and checking in clients, accepting payments, data entry record keeping and watching for safety as groups are in progress.
The hours for this position will be between 12-20 hours per week. The hours of operation would be starting at 5:00pm till 8:30 Mon, Tues and Thurs to cover for groups. And miscellaneous hours possible on Wed and Fri starting at 5:00pm.
Education: High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience: Microsoft Office: 1 year (Required)
